  • At Civic Contractors, we're a long standing supplier of services to NZ cities. We contract to Councils for street cleaning services such as collecting litter, road sweeping, removing graffiti, water blasting, pavement cleaning and more!

    We are looking for a People & Culture professional with 10 - 15 years experience across a range of organisations, to bring energy, passion and strong coaching and development skills to our Head Office based in Onehunga.

    In this role you will be partnering our leadership team to build not only their own leadership capability, but also the capability of their teams. With a strong commercial background, you will be involved in the strategic development and direction of the business, aligning our people to continue to drive our focus on excellence and sector leadership. You feel confident to speak in open forums across the business, to encourage growth, collaboration and a culture of empowerment.

    The key components of the role are (but not limited to):
    • Partnering the leadership team to build capability
    • Strategic business partner to MD
    • Accountability for the delivery of the key People & Culture functions (with support from a leadership team Administrator)
    • Support to leaders on employment matters as they arise
    • Recruitment & on boarding support
    • Delivery of the Wellbeing and Benefits plan
    • Staff communications
    • Remuneration policies and strategies
    You will also have the following skills & attributes:
    • A motivated self starter with a passion in building excellence
    • Ability to work independently, whilst encouraging collaboration across the team
    • A strong commercial background
    • Focused on the development of people strategies with end users in mind - experience in design thinking would be beneficial
    • Resilient with strong influencing skills
    • A desire for constant improvement and new ways of doing things
    • A great listener, with empathy, understanding and pragmatism
    This is a full time role, which may require domestic travel. This role would ideally suit someone who is currently operating at Leadership team level, or is business partnering at functional level and ready for the next step in their career.
