  • Smith Construction are a residential construction company based in Mangawhai, specialising in high end, architectural builds. We pride ourselves on quality, integrity, and building lasting client relationships as we bring their vision to reality.

    We're currently looking for an Office Administrator / Project Coordinator to join our close-knit team.

    This is a varied, challenging role with room to grow to meet our evolving business needs. Duties include, but are not limited to:
    • Assisting the managing director with various ad-hoc tasks
    • Ensuring smooth running of projects
    • Continuous improvement of our existing processes and procedures to suit our growing business needs
    • Managing accounts payable and receivable, tax filings and payments, timesheets and payroll, employee contracts
    • Coding and reconciling bank statements, liaising with accountants for financial year end
    • Tracking project budgets
    • Compiling the monthly client invoices
    • Managing health and safety documentation
    We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running so you will need to have proven office administration experience, as well as the ability to use initiative, work proactively and strive for excellence in all areas of work.

    Other essential skills and attributes inclulde:
    • Experience in electronic financial and accounting systems - knowledge of Xero or similar desirable
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)
    • Experience or interest in the building industry is desirable
    • Great customer service focus
    • A personable and professional manner
    • A can-do attitude and willingness to learn
    • Ability to prioritize with excellent time management
    This is a part time role working 25-30 hours per week with a view to increase working hours if desired.
