  • At Civic Contractors, we're a long standing supplier of services to NZ cities. We contract to Councils for street cleaning services such as collecting litter, road sweeping, removing graffiti, water blasting, pavement cleaning and more!

    We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. Civic are heading in a change of direction, and offer flexible working from home arrangements.  Currently based in Onehunga we are on the move.

    Civic offers flexible working, autonomy and the ability to bring your ideas that help steer the strategy of our business. A self starter, who is motivated by innovative ways of working, and enjoys working in a non-corporate environment will suit this role.

    You will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, and establish targets in conjunction with the Managing Director by prospecting, cold calling, telephone and email marketing and other defined strategies. You will also monitor and manage Civic marketing and communications strategies and suppliers, including PR, SEO, advertising, and branding advisors.

    The successful applicant will ensure understanding of clients objective, buying criteria and decision making processes, and forming long term business partnerships in order to leverage revenue from the relationship and promote the organisation as a quality supplier with the aim of achieving "preferred" supplier status`.

    To be considered you will need the following skills, and attributes:
    • Preferably minimum of 10 years experience
    • Relevant industry experience (facilities cleaning, facilities management, or familiar with contracting work where a service is provided)
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills with an advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft product (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
    • Ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
    • Professional attitude in dealing with all contacts
    • Flexibility - able and willing to adapt to changing priorities as and when required, and prepared to take a 'hands on' approach to achieve outcomes
    • Sound organisation skills and the ability to schedule multiple jobs and projects
    • Has broad knowledge and perspective, by creating competitive and breakthrough strategies and plans
    This is a newly established role and remuneration will be include base salary, a company car and commission.
